What is the Emotional Meaning's - part three

WHAT IS THE EMOTIONAL MEANINGS - PART THREE - FINAL

As a last example, we may take a part of an attack made by a newspaper on a novel. This runs: "Its vicious plea for the acknowledgement and con-donation of sexual perversity, and the grounds on which it is based, loosen the very sheet anchor of conduct." This passage calls out such strong emotions of abhorrence that most readers will be content to condemn the novel without further inquiry. Yet the effect is gained entirely by the choice of words with emotional meanings.

THERE WILL COME SOFT RAINS - PART ONE

In the living room the voice-clock sang. Tick-tock, seven o'clock, time to get up, seven o'clock! as if it were afraid that nobody would. The morning house lay empty. The clock ticked on, repeating and repeating its sounds into the emptiness. Seven-nine, breakfast time, seven-nine!

Television Addiction - fairyage

a sense of accomplishment
The word "addiction" is often used loosely and wrongly in conversation. People will refer to themselves as "mystery book addicts" or " cookie addicts". E.B. White writes of his annual surge of interest in gardening: "We are hooked and are making an attempt to kick the habit." Yet nobody really believes that reading mysteries or ordering seeds by catalogue is serious enough to be compared with addictions to heroin or alcohol. The word "addiction" is here used jokingly to denote a tendency to overindulged in some pleasurable activity.

The Forgetful Man - A lot of money

THE FORGETFUL MAN

An old man had a lot of money. He did not know where to keep it. There were no banks in those days. He hit upon an idea one day. He dug up a hole in the floor of his bedroom and put away all his money in that hole. He filled up the hole with such skill that it became a part of the floor again. Nobody could tell where the hole was. After this the old man completely forgot where he had hidden his money and where he had dug up the hole in the floor. He had forgotten all about it. Quite often after this he had needed the money but he didn't know where to find it. He had not told any of his relatives or friends about the hole. They, therefore, could not come to his help.

I kept quite still and said nothing. For a whole hour I did not move a muscle, and in the meantime I did not hear him lie down. He was still sitting up in the bed, listening; just as I have done, night after night, hearkening to the death watches in the wall.

I dared not raise my head. Monsieur Hamel was addressing me.

It was a large lovely garden, with soft green grass. Here and there over the grass stood beautiful flowers like stars, and there were twelve peach trees that in the spring time broke out into delicate blossoms of pink and pearl, and in the autumn bore rich fruit. The birds sat on the trees and sang so sweetly that the children used to stop their games in order to listen to them. "HOW HAPPY WE ARE HERE!" they cried to each other.

I will never really know the source of my phobia unless I decideto go under hypnosis, and for that, I need a psychiatrist. But then a sensible psychiatrist is impossible to find, much like a sane intelligence agent both indulge in too many mind games and maybe therefore lose their own. A dream - everyone likes pleasant dreams

A DREAM - EVERYONE LIKES PLEASANT DREAMS

Everyone likes pleasant dreams.

But yesterday night I had a dreadful dream.

I saw that I was standing near a beautiful horse in a jungle.

The next moment I was on the horse's back.

The horse, instead of running along the road, began to fly in the air.

Suddenly a big palace appeared before me in the air.

A group of well-dressed fairies welcomed me.

They took me in the palace where a giant was sitting on a lion's back.

He had a man's neck in his hand when he saw me.

He laughed and thanked the fairies for his new victim.

I was horrified and tried to run away.

The next moment, I was on the ground.

It roused me.

I thanked GOD that it was only a dream.

I was safe and sound.

But my heart was beating very fast and I could not sleep for the rest of night.

I recited some verses from the HOLY QURAN and then I felt relieved.

                            ABOUT LINE & RADIO COMMUNICATION

LINE COMMUNICATION...

Transmission by physical line provides a secure and more stable method of communication. Normally the lines cannot be the easily intercepted. For sort distances point to point communications this may be the most economical solution in many situations. Line transmission however occupies space for overhead erection or burying the cables. It is liable to disruption by accidents or careless digging operations. It may not be possible in difficult terrain or to cover the in-accessible areas. It is not suitable for mobile communication.
